This outpost is a very basic one room, rustic fishing camp.
Not recomended for families.
Cam Lake is connected to Little Missinabi Lake, Elbow Lake and Trump Lake.
When combined = outstanding Walleye, Northern Pike and Lake Trout fishing. Cam lake is 2 miles long and ½ mile wide the lake depth averages 20-30 feet. Northern Pike are between 5 and 10 lbs with the occasional one up to 42 inches.
Indian Pictographs from 1000 BC can be seen along the rocky cliffs of Little Missinabie. The early residents of this area had a deep reverence for nature and developed strong traditions. They performed rituals and made offerings to the gods to ensure continued gifts of nature. These activities were often performed in specific locations of spiritual importance. Portage Lakes
Little Missinabi Lake – Reached by walking a 15 minute trail to our boat cache. Walleye & Northern Pike.
Elbow Lake – Reached by boating or canoeing a river, depending on the water level. Northern Pike.
Trump Lake – Once at Elbow Lake, Trump Lake is a short portage. You will need a canoe to reach our island boat cache in the centre of Trump Lake. The canoe can be picked up and must be returned to our other outpost camp located on Little Missinabie Lake. This spectacular lake is 2 miles long and 1 mile wide and extremely deep. Try trolling the west side of the lake with down riggers for consistent Lake Trout from 2-3 pounds. If you would like to spend the night on Trump Island, bring your tent and ask us to arrange for a campsite permit. Lake Trout.
