Camp Description

Not recommended for families.

For the serious Fisherman only.

Ribes Lake outpost is a very small, 4 bed rustic trappers camp with outdoor dinning. Some of our groups bring a screen tent when the bugs are bad.

Ribes is a spectacular S-shaped lake about 2 miles long, It has several islands and is surrounded by tall pines. At one end of the lake there is a huge rock cliff, at the top you will be able to see the glorious countryside for fifty miles around. Ribes Lake has two distinct basins separated by fairly long and deep narrows. The northern basin where the camp is located has a 55 foot deep hole. The narrows is over 50 feet deep, and in the southern basin there is a 90 foot hole. Deep water means soft finned forage, cooler water and the potential for very large fish. Because of this, the fish are much larger than your typical small Northern Ontario Walleye lake. Don’t be surprised if you pull a monster into your boat! Make sure you photograph this experience and return the magnificent fish to his home. A whopping 54 inch Northern Pike was caught at this lake.
