Camp Description
Windsor Lake Camp has a newly renovated 36×24 foot two-bedroom cabin, which comfortably sleeps 8 people.  We recently acquired this outpost cabin and it has hardly been fished in since 2009. Windsor Lake is 20 miles long and is comprised of three bodies of water connecting through the Attawapiskat River system. The Lake is located within the North Channel of the Attawapiskat River as it continues on to Beteau Lake. Windsor ends up being a very large lake with endless islands and bays and miles and miles of shoreline.

Windsor Lake is known for its World Class Walleye fishing and the abundance of good size Northern Pike. There are Sturgeon and Perch available as well. We run a fall Moose hunt out of Windsor Lake in the fall. We do not run an organized bear hunt from this camp but the camp is within our Bear Management area so Moose hunters can buy an additional bear tag to hunt bear but they would be on their own. Please select a link below to read more details on the fishing and hunting.

Windsor Lake Walleye Fishing

Windsor Lake not only produces gigantic Walleyes, it produces vast numbers. The main water system consists of three main bodies of water that are just stuffed with Walleyes and gives you 20 miles to fish. For guests who have a more adventurous spirit; they can drive the boat through some narrow spots with current and have access to even more lakes.

How many Walleyes you catch in a day depends on factors such as weather, fishing skills and how hard you work. You should be able to catch 50 to 75 Walleyes in a day and on really good days catch between 75 and 100. You will catch lots of 2 and 3-pounders and during a week catch a couple in the 5 pound range. Even though the average size Walleye is a little smaller than Beteau Lake, there are still big Walleyes in this lake. Walleyes over 27 inches have been caught-&-released by our guests. This lake is not very deep and very easy to fish. You will basically catch Walleyes everywhere where there are rocks, weeds or current during the summer. In early spring, the Walleyes are either in the current or they are right up against shore on sandy beaches and sand bars.

We recently acquired this outpost cabin and it has hardly been fished in since 2009. Windsor Lake is known for containing extremely large amounts of Walleye. Back in 2006, it was reported that hundreds of Walleye were caught each day ranging from 20 to 25 inches with the biggest fish caught for the week being 27.5 inches. It was also reported that many Northern Pike were caught ranging from 30 to 37 inches. One can only imagine how many more Walleye and Northern are there now and how much bigger they have become.

Windsor Lake Northern Pike Fishing

The Windsor Lake Camp is a newly acquired outpost camp on a chain of lakes along the Attawapiskat River so you can expect the Northern Pike fishing to be just as good or even better than Beteau Lake due to its more remote location. The Windsor Lake camp was rarely used thus this area of the river has experienced next to no fishing pressure. You can expect to catch a trophy if you target Northerns.
