Camp Description
South Wabus Outpost is a drive-in/boat-in/boat-in cabin located in a very remote part of picturesque Northern Ontario. Located on the Great Lakes side (Atlantic Watershed) of the Canadian Shield, you will enjoy fishing for abundant Walleye, large Northern Pike as well as native Whitefish and Lake Trout.
Access to this Outpost is done through a boat-in at Wabus Lake which has huge drops in depth going as deep as 110 ft in some places, and an abundance of rivers and creeks feeding into it. Guests have the use of 2 fully-equipped boats on Wabus Lake as well as 2 fully-equipped boats on South Wabus Lake. This arrangement provides for an expanded Fishing Adventure and increases your chances in catching fish.
Meeting point and time will be discussed well prior to your arrival. From the meeting point you follow us in your vehicle to the parking location, your gear is then loaded into a boat. We go by boat to the end of Wabus Lake were we land and unload all of your gear and portage it about 400 feet over a small hill to 2 awaiting boats. All of your gear is reloaded into these boats and we then proceed to the South Wabus Outpost. Once arrived we unload all of your gear and ensure everything is in order at the cabin.
