It’s rustic atmosphere houses the kitchen where our chef prepares the most incredible gourmet meals, far beyond expectations. The dining room can comfortably seat thirty six people in family style atmosphere, where breakfast and dinner is served with a smile and pleasant conversation. Just off the dining room is the games room. Here you can play pool, darts, cards, watch Satellite T.V., watch a movie or just relax in it’s peaceful surroundings. We also offer free Wi-Fi in the main lodge area for those needing to stay in touch, however dealing with work related issues is frowned on.

Upon arrival you will be welcomed by our unprecedented staff who will ensure your luggage and fishing gear will be properly handled and placed in your gorgeous log waterfront cabin. After a brief tutorial from Josh and the issuance of fishing licences it is time to get geared up for a day on the lake. Your boats are ready for action and the dock staff awaits to ensure you are set up for a perfect day. Typically you are on the water fishing within 90 minutes from the time you leave the float plane docks in Kenora.

After a relaxing morning of fishing, you bring in your “shore lunch catch” to a designated spot on a remote beach. Let your guides pamper you by cleaning your fish for you while we fry up some real pan-fries. Your fish is then coated in their acclaimed secret batter, either Cajun or regular and fried golden crisp. Add all the extras our staff created back at the lodge while you were out fishing and we guarantee you will truly have a Shore Lunch meal you will never forget!

After enjoying this fantastic break, you head back out on the lake for more of the unbelievable fishing that you came for. Catches of 100 fish per boat, per day are common. Record size and quantity of Northerns and Walleye abound in the English River System where their Lodge is located. It just doesn’t get any better!

As evening approaches, you head back to the Lodge and your beautiful log cabin. Relax, mingle with other fishermen and maybe enjoy a cocktail while the kitchen staff prepares dinner.

After enjoying yet another mouth-watering meal the chef and kitchen staff have prepared and served you, you can head out on the lake and take a shot at another trophy before the sun goes down. If you have had enough fishing for one day you can challenge your friends to a game of pool in the games area, or perhaps try your skills as the sun sets on the golf driving range. Day after day you will enjoy this combination of exhilaration and relaxation. At Maynard Lake Lodge we truly want you to experience the trip of a lifetime. Seven Deluxe Private Cabins

All cabins have 24 hour electricity, a beverage fridge, running water, a wood stove and are fully carpeted. The cabins are stocked with linens, towels, warm blankets and ice buckets. We provide daily maid service.

Maynard Lake Lodge has seven private deluxe log cabins which are exceptionally luxurious and hold from 2–8 guests each in comfort. Our cabins are fully modern, equipped with a three piece bathroom, separate bedrooms and living area with a wet bar, card table and an astonishing view of the lake.

American Plan 4 Course Meal

All dining is 4 course and all you can eat.

Although sides do vary the main course will be either Beef Tenderloin, BBQ baby back ribs, prime rib, strip loin steak, our famous 2 inch pork chop, or chicken. We do whole smoked pigs for corporate groups. Appetizers are delivered to the cabins regularly at 5 pm.

Our culinary team is able to work with any dietary needs. We have the ability to deal with any type of allergy and even the most severe. Our kitchen is brand new and way more advanced than expected at most fly in locations. Breakfast is made to order with the option of a buffet.

Shore Lunch

Shore lunch is prepared daily out on the lake, featuring 2 flavours which change each day. Walleye are prepared over 24 different ways and are always caught same day by guest eating the fish.

Fishing Maynard Lake

The fishing for walleye, Northern Pike, Small Mouth Bass and Musky is renowned on the English River System, but nowhere is it better than on Maynard Lake.

Upon arrival, we will show you where to fish, what to use and how to use it. For those who wish, we have professional guides available, trained not only for fishing, but for service as well. At Maynard Lake, we practice ‘Catch & Release’ fishing. You may eat as much fish as you like during your stay, but take no limits home. This management strategy has made for fantastic fishing and will ensure large, strong fish populations for years to come.

Your day on the lake begins with a hearty breakfast—your boat waiting for you at the dock, cleaned, fueled and ready to go. Our friendly dock staff will be there to provide you with day coolers, ice, beverages, fishing spots, live bait and to see you off for your day of fishing.

As noon approaches, join Josh and his crew at one of our beautiful shore lunch locations where you can relax while they prepare a gourmet shore lunch for you. Nothing tastes better than walleye, fresh from the lake, coated in Maynard Lake’s Special Batter and cooked to perfection, served up with homemade tartar sauce, home baked beans and a variety of fresh salads. And “don’t forget the spuds!”, cooked over an open fire and seasoned with our secret

It’s time to get out the big tackle and try to tame a few “water wolves” in the afternoon sun. Northerns over 40″ are very common. At the end of the afternoon, when you return to the dock, our staff will be waiting to clean, fuel and organize your boat while you prepare yourself for an “ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT” gourmet dinner. Afterwards you are welcome to head out for more action, relax in our cozy games room or just sit on your deck to enjoy a beautiful Maynard Lake sunset. After a full day on the lake, a good night’s rest comes real easy in our comfortable beds.
