Camp Description
Your wilderness river fishing adventure (minimum of four guests) begins from Thunder Bay, Ontario where you fly 450 miles north to the community of Webequie. At Webequie, you will meet and be escorted directly to the dock where you embark on your trip downriver.
Our guests’ safety is our first priority. As you will be travelling in a 20´ freighter canoe powered by a 15hp motor through numerous fast white water rapids, large rocks, boulders and prevailing water levels, it is necessary that a helmsman and a bow oarsman pilot each canoe.
On the first day, your fishing trip begins north on the gentle flowing Winisk River 30 miles to Goose Camp for your overnight stay. Winisk River opens into beautiful large shallow lakes, narrow back into faster flowing currents, turning to turbulent white water rapids along the way.
The second day continues your journey downriver 16 miles to Tashka Rapids Camp, once again fishing the highly aerated water in the rapids and run-out pools for the prized Brook Trout as well as trophy Northern Pike and Walleye. The third, fourth and fifth days are spent at Goose Camp, on the river and at Tashka Rapids Camp.
The sixth morning of your fishing adventure you depart from Goose Camp back to Webequie for your return to Thunder Bay.
