Other Camps on Lake: Yes, Ogoki Frontier operates another outpost camp on the lake. There is also a lodge and another outpost cabin on this very large body of water.
Here are two premium camps on one of the North’s finest fishing lakes:
The West camp features all of our standard features plus a huge campus. Two cabins with enough room for groups of 12, featuring every-ones favourite, a large 12×12 gazebo. A dock hand rail is a standard safety feature including being equipped with 2-way radios.
Ogoki Frontier’s two fishing camps are original hand crafted log structures with many updates. – Whiteclay North at the mouth of the Moncrief River and the West camp at the mouth of the Ogoki River. The fishing is exceptionally good. Walleye fishing is as good as it gets and Whiteclay is known for it’s trophy northern pike. Trout and Sturgeon are also found here.
Both outpost camps are able to accommodate large groups up to 12 (in comfort). At the West camp we have a camp attendant/ guide cabin that is no longer staffed.
Whiteclay North is a large private outpost camp with two cabins… Fish house… 2 outhouses… large shower house.
Whiteclay West has two fully self contained cabins in order to accommodate two separate groups. For exclusive use of this camp you would require a group of eight.
Our camp attendants now fly-in to maintain the West camp facilities on a mid week schedule. On his visits to the West and North camps he does maintenance, gas and ice resupply as well as changing propane tanks as they empty.
Both Whiteclay camps have a radio-phone for urgent matters. Both locations feature Lund deluxe 16′ boats with electric start 20 hp 4 stroke outboards. All are equipped with swivel seats.
Austen Lake is upstream and is deeper with warmer waters. Austen is accessed by a short portage (10 min. walk) and has two 14′ boats with motors already positioned for your use. At the top end of Austen is another short portage (10 min) to Lower Maddy. There is a 12′ Lund on the other side but this time you have to carry a small 5hp Merc across. To complete the string of lakes requires you to pull the boat through a small creek to big Maddy.
