37 miles north of our base camp this 5 mile long river connects with Wapesi Lake and Lac Seul Wapesi bay. Very secluded and quiet, the river is teaming full of walleye and northern pike making it a great choice for 2 or 3 people.
Wapesi River is blocked off on both ends by rapids and there is no chance of seeing any other people.
Easy fishing at the rapids, walleyes and pike to be caught right off the dock and frequent moose sightings make this an ideal little getaway. The river is best fished during May and June when the water is high and the rapids are boiling.
This cozy, older style traditional cabin has 1 bedroom and 2 bunk beds. There are 2 – 14 foot boats at the site equipped with 2-stroke 15 hp Mercury motors – all gas included, Boats have padded swivel boat seats with back rests. We also keep a Canoe at the river.
